In January 2005 I came to see the relic of 9/11, that was still a huge ditch under the restoration construction. Surrounding it was the fence with the long banners of the victims’ names and photos. 10 years later the memorial I saw is like this.
From June 2007 until December 2008 I worked at SOM, the architecture company which designed both Twin Towers and the later Freedom Tower. At that time Freedom Tower was still a model standing in the hallway of the 14 Wall Street office building (23rd Fl.). What a memory!
World Trade Center remnant supports at 9/11 Memorial Museum. Looking through it you see Freedom Tower completed in 2013.
