I didn’t expect both two times I visit Montauk Point would be in winter.

This time I happened to bump into Christmas lighting the Lighthouse on Nov. 28, 2009.

The Panoramic View is a great resort, with decks facing the Atlantic Ocean and the windows from which you can see the sunrise, an astounding view you must not miss but you just let it slip away silently every day, since the ocean waves keep rocking your bed, and you could hardly tear yourself away from that soothing dream.

The one beside it is called Gurney’s Inn. A good spot, too.
